Clinic FAQ

We hear these questions all the time. Hopefully they help you out!

Q: Do the needles hurt?
A: They might pinch a little going in, usually compared to a mosquito bite. Sometimes you don't feel them at all.

Q: Can I come as a walk-in?
A: Yes. We do give priority to booked appointments, but we are usually able to fit walk-in's in pretty quick. We recommend checking to make sure we are open before you come by checking our Facebook page or giving us a call.

Q: Do you take debit/credit?

A: Yes, we can take debit, mastercard, and visa, as well as cash and cheque.

Q: Do you direct bill insurance companies?
A: Yes, we direct bill several insurance companies. As of the last time updating this list (June 2019), we direct bill to: Blue Cross, Chamber of Commerce Group Insurance, CINUP, Claim Secure, Cowan, Desjardins Insurance, First Canadian, Green Shield Canada, Great-West Life, GroupHEALTH, GroupSource, Industrial Alliance, Johnson Inc.,  Johnston Group Inc., Manion, Manulife Financial, Maximum Benefit, SSQ Insurance, and Sun Life Financial.

Q: I was injured at work. Can you bill WCB?
A: Yes, we are able to give treatments that are covered by WCB. Make sure you have already started the WCB claim at work and have had a doctor assess your injury.

Q: Do you provide receipts?
A: Yes. We can provide receipts as needed - the same day as your treatment, every couple of weeks, or at the end of the year (acupuncture can be claimed as a medical expense on your taxes!)

Q: How does it work when I have back pain and you don't put needles in my back?
A: There are multiple ways that acupuncture works. One of the ways it helps you, is by stimulating nerves that then tell your body it needs to help you heal. There are more nerves in your limbs than in your back, which seems to help the needles do their job better.
